Panasonic Lumix G1
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 is the world’s first full-time live view digital interchangeable lens camera. With the lens changing versatility of a DSLR, it delivers exceptional image quality and expandable creative possibilities by allowing the adoption of lenses from both the Micro Four Thirds and Four Thirds System (requires mount adapter). Unlike DSLRs, the G1 eliminates the mirror/prism optical viewfinder to achieve a smaller size and light weight for higher operational comfort.
Framing is via the camera’s EVF or the excellent 3.0-inch free-angle LCD which packs a 460k dot resolution. It offers with it a 4/3-type 12.2 megapixels Live MOS sensor that boasts a wide dynamic range and low power consumption. Panasonic’s new Venus Engine HD imaging processor gives superb noise reduction and a Dust Reduction System is added to prevent dust and other particles adhering to the sensor.

We’ve tried other hybrid attempts in the past, but nothing has come close in terms of build quality and reliability. Every shot we took came out sharp, even in the lowest ambient light. The intelligent auto mode seemed to be more reliable than in Panasonic’s lower-end models - perhaps due to the higher quality components it in the G1
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 might just be the camera that every enthusiast and photographer dreams about having in a compact non-DSLR camera. With requests for a better sensor and an interchangeable lens, that dream camera is finally here folks and the G1 makes a great alternative or backup camera to the DSLR-toting photographer.
